About this design

A printed master and cottle (mold frame) for making a one-piece plaster drop-out mold, then slip casting your own small bowls in it.

The fired bowl is 95 mm across and 45 mm tall. The master is already scaled up for 12% clay shrinkage, so the fired piece comes out at that size, and it carries a spare (pour reservoir) at the rim. Stand the master on its base, slide the cottle tube over, seal the joint with clay, and pour about 1.5 litres of mixed plaster to the rim. The finished mold has no undercuts, so the leather-hard bowl drops straight out. Both parts print with no supports in about 7 hours.

You print the master yourself on any FDM printer, then make the plaster mold from it.
